Laura Ridolfi   I feel that our creativity helps us to deal with the unexpected, to find meaning in our lives and the inner resources to change and grow. Trained in Anthroposophic Art Therapy, my approach embraces the physical as well as the soul and spiritual aspects of our well-being in relationship to the world arounds us. I see life as a journey, where the outer and the inner paths interweave; art helps me to enjoy this journey: mindful in the process, I leave the destination open to the imagination.

Robin R James BA Hons MA   As a practicing artist specialising in mosaic and mixed media, I am qualified in Community arts and art for health and wellbeing. Having trained at Reading, Hibernia, and Plymouth Colleges, I have worked with schools, community groups and individuals, both here and abroad, on projects religious and secular over many years. I am passionate about shared creativity and how artistic practice can bring about self esteem and a sense of belonging. I believe artistic practice can uplift, heal and give a sense of achievement to anyone at any stage or difficulty in their life.  It manifests itself in objects that are a true expression of joy and accomplishment.

Our current facilitators include

Jessie Spurr   As a psychotherapist in training, I am particularly interested in how we experience what it means to be human.  I find that working with art media can be a profound way to explore this, because it can reveal thoughts and feelings that are otherwise unconscious and difficult to access.  In this way, the artistic process can powerfully complement the therapeutic journey; this can be challenging, although it is often nourishing too.

Gill Horne   HCPC registered Art Psychotherapist. I have facilitated groups in a range of settings including NHS mental health services, Studio Upstairs Bristol, and voluntary sector organisations. I strongly believe in the capacity for groups to allow for and support people’s mental well-being, build resilience and create a sense of belonging. I am gentle and encouraging in my approach and I allow for the unconscious to emerge and support growth and unique personal expression. I am particularly interested in making safe therapeutic spaces more accessible and inclusive.

We are grateful for the help of all our volunteers.
