Exploring earth colours Weekend Workshop
with Bristol artist and writer Nick Moore
Saturday 16th – Sunday 17th November 2024, 10am-4pm on both days
Earth colours were used by the first painters, all their materials were literally at their feet. We will explore the richness of these ochres, umbers and siennas in acrylics and see that they are by no means limited in scope, immersing ourselves in a long-standing creative process.
There will be a demonstration of the process of making paint by transforming raw earth into pigments then into paint. There will also be an illustrated talk to support this workshop.
Art materials and refreshments will be provided, please bring lunch and wear suitable clothes.
Nick Moore is an abstract painter, writer, curator and improvising musician based in Bristol.
Booking is required.
£150 (£130 conc.) all art materials are included and no previous artistic experience is required.
